A documentary, a journey
“Once a journey is designed, equipped, and put in process, a new factor enters and takes over. A trip, a safari, an exploration, is an entity, different from all other journeys. It has personality, temperament, individuality, uniqueness. A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless. We find after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us.”
John Steinbeck, Travels with Charley: In Search of America
Our guide for this trip is a French artist who lives in New York, Clovis Pareiko. He's been painting for 25 years and he came to the United States to add a new chapter to his life as an artist. The first day of an exhibition is called an « opening ». September 2014: Clovis has been working every day at his studio because his opening is in two weeks. This will be his first solo show in New York.
We took this chance to find answers to our questions. We followed Clovis as he prepared for his show and we discovered some wonderful people and a hidden world.
